Since October 2019, the University of Cambridge Library at West Road has been showing the exhibition ‘The Rising Tide – Women at Cambridge’ in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Girton College, the first British institution offering residential university studies for women, in 1869 and Newnham College in 1871. The exhibition runs until 21 March 2020 and is open Mon-Fri 9 am to 7 pm and Sat 9 am to 4.45 pm.
