Dr Upal Chakrabarti and Dr Sukanya Sarbadhikary from the Presidency University, Kolkata, India, have teamed up with Dr Rochona Majumdar from the University of Chicago, USA, to build the institutional archive of the Hindu/Presidency College (the first institution of western education in Asia, established in Kolkata in 1817), in collaboration with the British Library and the University of Chicago. Out of that archive, they have just published a co-edited volume of essays on the intellectual production and institutional life of the college with Cambridge University Press: The Hindu/Presidency College.
