HistGeogUni member Dr Pierre Verschueren (University of Franche-Comté, Centre Lucien Febvre) has launched the English website for his collaborative research project on Becoming scholars. Theses and doctorats ès lettres in the 19th century. This online exhibition provides fascinating insights into the development of the Doctor of Letters theses at the University of Paris – Sorbonne during the nineteenth century. The exhibition includes a map showing where 26% of the Doctor of Letters theses were printed outside of Paris in the period 1810 to 1899.
